From 2015-2018 Dean worked as the General Manager of Compete Strength and Conditioning in Norwood, MA, where he provided written digital media content for blog posts and social media accounts.

During that time, Dean completed an English degree at Boston College and graduated summa cum laude as an English major and a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honors Society. He also wrote a weekly nutrition column for “Wicked Local” newspapers, and had an essay published in The Boston Globe while in school.

While studying in Edinburgh, Scotland, Dean played for the university ice hockey team, and regularly contributed to The Student newspaper, the oldest student-run newspaper in the United Kingdom.
